Alcatel Bell magnetic cards

Alcatel Bell are magnetic cards manufactured in Belgium but they didn’t have a great diffusion among worldwide Telecoms, having been Turkey their main utilizer. The cards are a little like Autelca cards, with a magnetic stripe on the back, and a barcode, which is often covered by a black stripe, that could seem another magstripe. They are thinner than Autelca cards but thicker than the Japanese ones.

The cards were “swallowed” by the telephone when all the units have been used so early used cards are often not easy to find and, in Turkey, they were recharged and sold again so fully loaded cards can still be not in very good condition. Apart from Turkey, just a few Countries have adopted this technology, even if trials were conducted in several Countries, and some of the cards used for the trials are quite rare and valuable.
