Djibouti, 1989

Public telephone devices operating with a chip card were installed in 1989 and the first cards provided by Schlumberger depicted the OPT Djibouti logo on a white background. The same design will then be used for subsequent reprints, however, the first issue can easily be distinguished because the cards were printed in silkscreen (the subsequent are lithographed) and were the only ones to mount the gold chip SC4 with white background. Values were 10 (circulation: 15,000), 25 (25,000), 50 (20,000), 100 (45,500), 200 (15,500) and 300 units (32,000).
