Telgua (Teléfonos de Guatemala) is the largest telecommunications company in Guatemala. Founded in 2001, in that year it issued the first telephone card: called “Ladatel”, and very similar to those used in neighboring Mexico, it had a face value of Q.20 (Quetzal Guatemalteco) and a circulation of 385.000 copies. Many more cards were issued in upcoming years.
