Iceland, 1986

Optical cards, provided by Landis & Gyr, were introduced in 1986 and used until 1998. The first issued was a simple definitive with a 2mm optical band, of which there are two variants: the first showed a non-metallic painting, and only 400 were printed, with code starting with “00”; the second one, with a 100,000 print run, had instead a metallized print and code 601A. The following year it was reissued, with a 100,000 run, but the band was 4mm and the code 706A.Phonecards - Iceland 1986
