Vanuatu, 1992

Vanuatu, literally “the land that emerges from the sea”, is an archipelago of central Melanesia, in the southern Pacific, more than 2,000 kilometers from the east coast of Australia.
Telecom Vanuatu has been issuing chip cards for a few years, starting in 1992 with a series of three ordinary cards. These had the Telecom logo on a simple white background, with values of 30, 60 and 120 units, and were produced by Schlumberger with the SI5 chip still in the AFNOR position (at the top of the card).
