Uganda, 1992

A series of four magnetic cards, supplied by the Japanese Tamura, was used in Uganda since 1992. It consisted of four values: 50, 100, 500 and 1000 units, and it should be noted that the 100 and 1000 units differ among them only for the facial value. The cards can be found quite easily, except for the 1000 units which is very rare to get in good condition. However, obviously the system was not appreciated, because after only two years the chip cards system was introduced.
