Argentina, 1991

The first phonecards which have been used in Argentina were issued by Telefónica de Argentina and produced by Italian firm Urmet. They were two cards with face value of 100 and 200 units as the only difference between them, and 5,000 each had been printed and used on a trial basis in the Argentine Congress Building.

Some months later, the other telephone company, Telecom Argentina, issued its own phonecards.
