Even though until 2 June 2006 the Republic of Montenegro was united to the Republic of Serbia with the name of Serbia and Montenegro, already in 2000 it began to issue its own chip cards. The first depicted a view of Lake Scutari, and 100,000 were printed. In fact, every 10,000 cards changed the first four digits of the code, so we have cards with prefix 5000, 5001, 5002, and so on. If you really want to be picky, the first issue should be sought among those with code 5000.
